
Stephen is the vicar of Christ Church, Virginia Water. He is also chairman of the International Bible Society UK, sponsors of the New International Version of the Bible (NIV) the most widely published translation in English.
Stephen is a trustee of several charities including the Amos Trust. He is vice-chair of Friends of Sabeel UK founded by Naim Ateek and on the Board of Reference for the Mar Elias Educational Institutions, Ibillin in Galilee founded by Elias Chacour. He is Campaign Coordinator for the Interfaith Group for Morally Responsible Investment and a founding member of the Institute for the Study of Christian Zionism. He is chairman of governors at St Ann's Heath School, Virginia Water.
He has a MTh in theology from Oxford University and a PhD from Middlesex University. His doctoral thesis on Christian Zionism formed the basis for his newest book. He has authored, or contributed to, several books including:

He has lectured extensively in Britain, the USA, Middle East and Eastern Europe. He is also a visiting lecturer at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. He is married to Joanna and they have four children and a cat named Tiger.
