
Ibrahim Hewitt is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the charity ‘Interpal’, non-political, non-profit making British charity that focuses solely on the provision of relief and development aid to the poor and needy of Palestine. Ibrahim is also the Head Teacher of Al-Aqsa Primary School, an independent Muslim school in Leicester.
A graduate of the University of Leicester, his PhD studies were interrupted by a request to head Al-Aqsa School, which he had founded as a trustee in 1998.
Honorary positions held include: Assistant Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), April 2004 to-date; Chairman of the Board of Governors, Islamia Primary School (VA), London, April 2001-July 2004. In March, 2005, Ibrahim was awarded the Alia Izetbekovic Prize for Citizenship at the Muslim News Awards for Excellence ceremony.
