
Singer, songwriter and author Garth Hewitt is Director of the Amos Trust, an organisation committed to issues of justice, peace, development and human rights. It works mainly in four parts of the world - Palestine/Israel, South Africa India and Nicaragua.
Garth has been writing and recording songs for over 30 years, and it has been his experiences of travelling around the world to many situations of poverty and conflict that have made him particularly committed to issues of justice and peace. Garth's latest album 'Stealing Jesus Back' (ICC) was released in September. Garth has just released a book of prayers and meditations called 'Making Holy Dreams Come True' with photos by Wilf Whitty.
In June Garth was installed as an Honorary Canon at St George's Cathedral, Jerusalem and also given a special creditation by the ' House of Poets' in Ramallah, West Bank for his: 'positive attitude towards the Palestinian people and their struggle towards freedom and justice'.
He is Guild Vicar of All Hallows on The Wall in the City of London - a centre for organisations involved in issues of justice and art and is also the author of several books on the Holy Land.
